Camp Matty – April 2014!

Join us for Camp Matty, a therapeutic horseback riding day camp for children (age 2 – 21) living with epilepsy. Participants enjoy horseback riding in a fun and safe environment. In addition to horseback riding campers enjoy arts & crafts, outdoor games and other fun activities in a beautiful farm setting. Friendships are formed amongst campers, volunteers, parents, and siblings who attend (siblings may participate in all camp activities with the exception of the horseback riding). Camp Matty is supported by donations from generous sponsors and is also made possible because of the assistance of our many wonderful Camp Matty volunteers. There is a $25 application fee required to secure your spot at camp, but there is no charge to attend.  Completed applications must be submitted to the Matty Fund no less than one week prior to the start of camp. Click here for a  April 2014 Camper Application

Discovering My Epilepsy is a support group for children, teens and their families living with epilepsy. Our mission is to help one another understand the many life changes associated with epilepsy. Our goals are to provide a safe, secure, and stimulating environment, nurture new friends, and create a support network for the siblings and parents of those with epilepsy.

If you have not done so already be sure to fill out a Family Intake Sheet so that we may better assist you.

Matty’s Memorial Day 5K Run/Walk/Kid’s Dash for Epilepsy

5k running shoeJoin us for Matty’s Memorial Day 5K Run/Walk/Kid’s Dash for Epilepsy. Race date is Monday, May 26, 2014. The Kid’s Dash starts at at 8:30 am and race starts at 9 am. Come and enjoy this hometown family event, USATF-Certified 3.1 mile run and walk. Proceeds to benefit children and families touched by epilepsy and the VA Epilepsy Center for Excellence.   Following the race, stay for  Wakefield’s Memorial Day Parade.

Matty’s Night at the Aquarium

Join us from 6:00-8:00 pm at Biomes Marine Biology Center for a private night at the aquarium. Children can participate in a hands-on marine experience and learn about the marine animals of Narragansett Bay and the Atlantic Ocean.

Matty’s 12th Annual Golf Tournament

Matty Fund ballAttend the 12th annual Matty’s Golf Tournament for Epilepsy at Richmond Country Club. This event will sell out, so register early! Advance registration is required. 

$150 per person cart and greens fees, also includes dinner!
