Meet Emily. She is a 3 year old child living with epilepsy.
Her parents, Brenda and Philip first noticed Emily staring and rolling her eyes just after her first birthday. Days later she was diagnosed with epilepsy. That first year included a lot of worry and anxiety, as well as multiple doctor visits and several EEGs. It took over a year to find the right dose of medications to manage her seizures but it has delayed her learning skills. For that, she receives physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy. For a three year old it’s a lot to overcome, but she’s doing it.
Within two months of Emily’s diagnosis, her parents discovered The Matty Fund. The family became active in the Warwick Discovering My Epilepsy Support Group. And Emily took part in Matty’s Pumpkin Festival, Camp Matty, Egg Hunt, Night at The Museum to name just a few.
The Matty Fund is able to help Emily and other families living with epilepsy thanks to the generous support of donors like you. We hope you will consider making a donation to our 2013 Annual Appeal. Your gift is an investment in the future of our programs and services. Your donation directly helps the quality of life for children and families touched by epilepsy.
Thank you for your generosity and continued support of The Matty Fund.
